Case Study #4
Technology Company’s Entire Catalog of Products, Contracts and Designs Are “Stolen”. A design and manufacturing technology company was concerned about their network security. Recognizing the damage that successful industrial espionage would bring to their client, Ra Security Systems performed an extensive security assessment and a penetration test. The assessment began by using a "Red Team" to perform a "Black Box" test, meaning that Ra was given no information what-so-ever about the company's infrastructure and only a very select few within the company knew of the team's activities. In a short amount of time, Ra Security Systems was able to penetrate their network using an anonymous Internet connection. After taking control of several servers, the team were able to obtain access to all of the company's proprietary circuit designs, their test results and the contracts with their component manufacturing partners. Thanks to Ra Security Systems, the company was able to upgrade their security before any real damage could take place.
Conclusion: Risk introduced by information technology is often mis-understood or even over looked by many otherwise diligent companies. To minimize the risk of proprietary information falling into the hands of competitors, a comprehensive security strategy should be developed and implemented. The team of knowledgeable and dedicated experts at RSS can help you do just that.
